The aims of the Geographic Information Systems micro-credential are as follows:

Introduction to spatial analysis and solving geographic problems using GIS as an analysis tool
Understanding raster and vector data
Understanding overlays and buffers
Symbolizing categorical data
Symbolizing quantitative data
Labelling map features
Managing tables
Editing features and attributes
Creating geodatabases and feature classes
Add data into geodatabases
Edit GIS data
Align spatial data

The course includes a student subscription to the ArcGIS pro software, available for the duration of the semester.
Successful completion of a New Zealand Diploma (Level 5), or
