This course is designed for people who have very basic to no welding skills, or those who wish to improve their welding skills. There is facility for MMAW (Manual Metal Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding).
The Beginners / Improvers course does not include aluminium welding. This course is run with the NZS2980 course and combined they are limited to 12 places.  You will need to bring in your passport or birth certificate if you haven’t enrolled at SIT before.
Please bring with you: overalls, safety boots and safety glasses.
All courses are subject to sufficient enrolments.
Cost is $600 (incl GST) for the course (no welder qualification included). Fees will be invoiced to you upon enrolment and must be paid before you commence the programme.
Please note this programme is not Government funded and the Zero Fees Scheme does not apply.
